Day 1: Meru National Park Kenya

This is your day to fully immerse yourself in nature. After an early breakfast, you’ll depart with a packed lunch for a full-day tour. Meru National Park is renowned for its lions and holds a special connection to Elsa the Lioness, made famous by the 1966 British drama film “Born Free,” starring Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers as Joy and George Adamson, who raised Elsa from an orphaned cub to adulthood. You can visit Elsa’s grave, located at the southern end of the park near the southern bank of the Ura River.

Meru National Park is also one of the top locations in Kenya to observe rhinos in their natural habitat, with the fenced 83 sq km Rhino Sanctuary housing 34 black rhinos and 70 white rhinos. Enjoy your packed lunch in the park, continue with game drives, and later return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

3. Meru National Park to Nairobi
This is your last day of he safari. Enjoy breakfast as you check out of your camp. We’ll then depart for Nairobi, with a stop along the way for lunch and refreshments. You’ll arrive in the late evening, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel.

Details

Pick-up (6:00 AM): Your 2 Days Amboseli safari begins with a pick-up from your Nairobi accommodation or a designated meeting point around 6:00 AM. Ensure you have comfortable clothing, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars, and a camera to capture the incredible moments ahead. Drive to Amboseli (6:30 AM - 11:00 AM): Embark on a scenic drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, which lies approximately 240 kilometers to the south. As you approach the park, keep an eye out for your first glimpses of the red-soiled elephants, which are known for their striking appearance. Amboseli Game Drive (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM): Upon entering Amboseli National Park, you'll kick off your adventure with an exciting game drive. Explore the park's diverse landscapes, including marshes, grasslands, and acacia woodlands, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lunch Break (1:30 PM): Enjoy a delicious packed lunch while taking in the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro from a picturesque location within the park. Amboseli Game Drive (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM): Resume your game drive in the late afternoon, when wildlife activity is at its peak. Keep your camera ready to capture the iconic red-soiled elephants as they traverse the park, often framed by the awe-inspiring mountain scenery. Check-in at Your Lodge or Camp (7:00 PM): Head to your selected lodge or camp within or near Amboseli National Park for a comfortable night's stay. Enjoy dinner and rest, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Early Morning Game Drive (6:30 AM - 9:00 AM): Start your second day with an early morning game drive, an ideal time to spot the park's inhabitants when they are most active. Witness the wildlife's interactions and the mesmerizing sight of the elephants against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Breakfast (9:30 AM): Return to your lodge or camp for a hearty breakfast before beginning your journey back to Nairobi. Drive Back to Nairobi (10:30 AM - 4:00 PM): Bid farewell to Amboseli National Park and embark on your return journey to Nairobi. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters and scenic vistas you've experienced.
Your 2 Days Amboseli Safari concludes with drop-off at your Nairobi accommodation or the designated drop-off point, leaving you with indelible memories of the unique red-soiled elephants and the beauty of Amboseli National Park.
